Certain things are meant for adorning. Noses, Indian princesses, staircases. The more impractical, the better. Last year, I had five pounds of glitter in my dining room during Christmas and half of it is still there, because glitter stays with you forever.
Recently I became so homesick for my summer garden that I drove to Old Nice and scooped up an entire truckload of blooms at the Cours Saleya to bring back to le Château. Pepito is brooding right now in the salon, saying that he can’t use the handrail because of all of the eucalyptus and rosepetals. Hey, bad hat, RELAX. I need a bit of flowering beauty this time of year.
I’m in bed ill.. and I’ve just found your blog (well.. about 3 hours ago!.. and i’m still here). A couple of things I hate.. boredom.. and being ill. You have cured my boredom, and I’d like to say my illness, but no. (no fear though .. that’ll be cured itself in a few days). But, you have made my imagination better.. I love your blog, love your imagination, your artistry, your candor and your wit. You’ve re-lit my imagination (it was sleeping there for a while!), and I’m making plans for my own little chateau. Long may you write and post! Elaine x
